June 18

So as many of you probably do not know, Crater Lake had 56 feet of snow this year. With the combination of being 7,1000 feet above see level, and the record measurements of snow, my position as front desk has be delayed, because they are still digging them out. In the mean time they have matched my salary while working in the rim village cafĂ©. Today was my first day of work, and I guess its something that I’m going to have to deal with until these mountains of snow melt. Today people where sled riding in shorts and T-shirts because it was about 75 but there are just huge piles of snow still. It was kind of goofy. The bonfire last night was at the lower employee campground, it was cool to see how the lifers live and hang out. It’s a complete different way to life out here!  There was lot of guitar playing, horseshoe throwing and s’more makin’. I work tomorrow, then I have Sunday and Monday off. I know that I’ll probably go snowshoeing on Sunday, and besides that, I’ll be tracking down a fishing pole to go catch some trout/salmon J
