I am alive! cell phone service doesn't really happen here at Mazama. I have to go down about a mile or to the top which is about seven miles. The past two days have been rough, but things are getting better. Orientation was today, other than meeting some Taiwanese there are a lot of people from Cali and Oregon. Tonight some of the employees are going down to the lower camp ground for a bomb fire, it should be a good time. San Francisco is about 5 hours from here, a lot closer than I had thought and the closest town is called Klamath Falls, which I thought Medford was the closest. Klamath Falls is about a 40-50 minute trip, and is where I would pick up any visitors who are willing to adventure out to the west coast for a visit, or if I need to run to wal-mart. One exciting things that happened today was that when I made the trip to call my mom, down in the gorge I saw a black bear walking the banks of the river, it was pretty cool to see!
